Day of Advocacy: January 2006

On January 24th 2006, FPA held a Day of Advocacy at the State Capitol.  In attendance were over 100 advocates from across the state, meeting with their legislators on a variety of reproductive justice issues including funding for family planning, comprehensive sex education and enhanced access to emergency contraception. In addition to lobby visits, teens from throughout New York participated in a press conference calling for the passage of the Healthy Teens Act, an important piece of legislation that would provide resources to fund age-appropriate, medically accurate sex education for young people.
