A Letter to NYS Legislators Regarding the Berger Commission Recommendations

Family Planning Advocates of NYS

In November of 2006 the Berger Commission released recommendations to "right size" New York's hospitals. These recommendations included mergers of non-religious and religious hospitals. Such mergers can have a dramatic and often negative effect on the delivery of women's health care services. In light of these potential problems, FPA submitted a letter to Legislators outlining the organization's concerns around the Berger Commission's recommendations.

The Hyde Amendment - 30 Years is Enough

National Network of Abortion Funds

In 1976, Congress passed the Hyde Amendment, which forbids federal funding for abortion. The National Network of Abortion Funds has created a fact sheet which illustrates the adverse impact the Hyde Amendment has on the health and well-being of women.
